So, THIS is IT…
The reason for the road trip to Cleveland.
the “Pilgrimage, my Mecca of this Craft BeerRoad Trip
Cleveland’s OG craft brewery. Great Lakes Brewing Company

A huge brewery facility located across the Road has been in operation since 1992
despite being very busy for a Saturday early afternoon, we were quickly seated at the end of the big oak bar… which as history tells, is original to the old tavern, that was frequented by none other than Eliot Ness, of The Untouchables fame, and who now has an amber lager named in his honour.

I was shocked by their Staggering selection, both regular brews, and many seasonals…

since I wanted to try as many as possible (without dying) I got myself a flight of 8, and simply asked our server to pour me a good sampling… I was not disappointed by any of them.
(there were however several I would have liked to try, but were sold out)
-Eliot Ness Amber Lager
-Edmond Fitzgerald Porter
-Commodore Perry IPA
-Conway’s Irish Ale
-Pink Boots Pilsner
-TropiCostal Tropical IPA
-Nitro Dortmunder Golden Lager
-Mexican Lager w/ Lime

the one that stood out for me, was the “Nitro Dortmunder Golden Lager”
A relatively light brew, with crisp hops, and hearty malt backbone… and a unique creaminess from the nitro pour…
I was super impressed with my visit to Great Lakes Brewing Company In Cleveland…
it was on my bucket list for a long time.
I’m glad I made it, and look forward to going back sometime in the not-too-distant future.
